MARKETING MANAGEMENT (2009)

Note: All question have to be attempted.


1. Think an example of a product that you own and that does
   not satisfy your needs. How would you modify the product
   to secure your needs ? Try to come up with suggestions
   that would not increase the cost (hence;price) of the
   product.

2. Write short notes on any four of the following
   (upto 50 words) :

   (a) Strategic market planning
   (b) Marketing environment
   (c) New product development
   (d) Product life cycle
   (e) Service marketing mix
   (f) Rural marketing
   (g) Physical distribution
   (h) Word of mouth communication(WOM)

3. Segmenting the market is epicentre of targeting and
    positioning strategies of any organisation.Comment.
                   Or
   Compare buying behaviour in consumer and organisational
   buying (purchasing) and also explain. why the pursuit
   of customer loyalty is an important strategy for many
    organisation ?

4. There are variety of media available to advertiser. It
   is essential that the most appropriate is chosen. List
   the various types of media's with their relative
   importance.
                     Or
   Marketing mix strategies differ in every stage of product
   life cycle. Comment.

5. When you purchase a product/service; do you consider all
   the available brands ? How do you choose which brand to
   consider ?
                    Or
   Why would it be important to research the prices charged
   by your competitor before setting prices for your own
   product and why competition is beneficial for the customers?
